The true revolution starts on the silver screen
In the 50´s the T-shirt achieves status as stand-alone garment thanks to
certain actors that appeared on the silver screen wearing t-shirts as a casual piece. Two worth mentioning are Marlon Brando in “A streetcar named desire” by Elia Kazan and James Dean in “Rebel without the cause” by Nicholas Ray. They were both wearing T-underwear combined with a pair of jeans and a jacket.
Although the look, born in the 50`s, has been copied and modified by so many throughout the years, it is still tasteful. Even in 2022 it’s hard to imagine a better outfit than a combination of a pair of jeans, a jacket, and a T-shirt for semi-formal and casual events.
